#01 Tanita Tikaram – Twist in my sobriety (Alf Tumble Re-dress) [link]
Absolutely fantastic re-work by Swedish Alf Tumble of Tanita Tikaram’s classic. Magic!
#02 Rick Astley – Never gonna give you up (Drop out orchestra Dub) [link]
A strong pretender to the throne, but DOO just missed the #1.
#03 Robyn – Indestructible (A-Trak radio edit) [link]
I believe every single tune from Robyn’s magic 2010 could’ve made this list – but I had to draw the line somewhere. A-Trak’s remix was the best of them all.
#04 Chromeo – Don’t turn the lights on (Aeroplane remix) [link]
Smoooooth job by Aeroplane on one of the best singles of the year.
#05 Marcos Cabral – Lifetime Groove [link]
Another magic re-make. This time of New Edition’s old smoofie. Magic Cabral
#06 Hurts – Wonderful Life (Arthur Baker Remix) [link]
These wonderful Mancs jumped on the scene from practically out of nowhere – and employing good ol’ Arthur for this mix is nothing short of brilliant. Love it!
#07 Clubfeet – Say Something [link]
The first of many many wonderful cover versions this year. Clubfeet’s version of James’ old “Say something” is simply lovely.
#08 Yeasayer – O.N.E [link]
Aaah. Yeasayer charmed the hell out of me and probably the rest of the world. Not least with this lovely aching little electro number. Huge!
#09 Smoosh – The World’s Not Bad [link]
A major surprise for me and the most beautiful tune of 2010. End of.
#10 Belle and Sebastian – I want the world to stop [link]
Magic comeback by B&S. Pop at its best.
#11 jj – Let Go [link]
JJ are amazing. They keep on pumping out tunes that take you an entirely different time and place. I love them.
#12 Hot Chip – I feel better (Ill Blue Dub) [link]
Brilliant single by HC, in a tremendously cool Ill Blue dub – the best in a long line of great remixes of this tune.
#13 Noisettes – Ever Fallen In Love With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve [link]
My favorite track in an excellent cover version. Has been on repeat since I’ve heard it first.
#14 Kid Kasio – Not for turning [link]
Probably the biggest surprise on this list – but I’ve played Kid Kasio’s tune at least once a day since I heard it first. So it had to end up here. Brilliant electro pop.
#15 Vitalic – Second Lives [link]
Now, this is how hard pumping night driving electro should sound. Ok?
#16 Rusko ft. Amber Coffman – Hold On [link]
Yet another surprise for me. I never thought I’d put it in a year top list, but this one’s constantly growing.
#17 Metric – It’s a sin (Pet Shop Boys cover) [link]
Yup. Another cover version. This time of PSB’s classic “It’s a sin”. Utterly brilliant.

#19 Robyn – Dancing on my own (Rex the Dog Remix) [link]
There are so many great remixes of this. But I had to pick one. One of Robyn’s best tunes – ever.
#20 BRAT – One Of These Nights [link]
Only one mash-up managed to make it to my list – but what a mash-up. I’m stunned each time I hear it. Hats off – and thanks!
