Copycat's Top 10 July @ AudioPorn Central

I'm still enjoying my vacation, doing fuck-all, so I haven't focused on any music this month, not to mention a personal top 10 list for AudioPorn Central. Sorry about that.

All I can say is that the perfect soundtrack to my very slow, lounging days is the wonderful Meanderthals
album "Desire Lines" (with Lindstrøm and several others). I've also spent a fair bit of time with Stuart Murdoch's musical project, God Help The Girl. Highly recommended - both!

On the other hand, there are plenty of personal favorites in the official joint list to make any music lover happy, so I suggest you head over and have a listen! Alrighty then. Ciao!

#01 DJ Schmolli - The Trooper Believer [link]

#02 Annie Lennox - Backwards/Forwards - An Earworm Mashup [link]

Depeche Mode remix contest update

Says Beatport editor Terry Church:

Hi everybody,

The reason why it’s taking so long to announce the winner is because Depeche Mode are incredibly busy and are completely swamped. But the whole band is listening to every single one of the remixes that we submitted and we will have a winner soon (we’ve been told).

Please be patient, and understand that, as one of the biggest bands in the world, DM are taking their time to choose the perfect remix. We haven’t forgotten about this competition, and are just as desperate to find out who the winner is, as you guys.

Copycat one of the Pandagod
remix contest winners!

You might remember the remix contest I entered for the Hungarian industrial electro outfit Pandagod. Got the word a few weeks back that my remix was one of the winners! :D

I turned the track into a bouncy electro pop number that apparently found its way to the band members' hearts.

Thank you Pandagod - and thank you CrunchGear!

More info? Check Pandagod's site - or CrunchGear.

Missed the track? Listen/DL below.

Copycat's Top 10 June @APC

Sorry for the late post; been having some issues with Blogger. Anyway; Slow month for me. Haven’t really dug that deep. And it’s way too hot too think these days. But I definitely found a few gems.

#01 Fever Ray - Triangle Walks (Rex The Dog Radio Edit) [link]
FR goes 80s! Two of my faves in one go. Obvious top 10.

#02 Pony Pony Run Run - Hey You (PPRR dance remix) [link]
Love this 80s tinged dance remix of PPRR’s Hey You. Damn, why didn’t I think of it myself…

#03 Name The Pet - Get On The Bus [link]
Addicted to this clubby electro tune by Swedish newcomer Name the Pet. I think we’ll hear more from her soon.

#04 Sally Shapiro - Miracle (Bogdan Irkük Remix) [link]
Cool soothing electro for them hot summer nights. Just what the doctor ordered.

#05 Gossip - Heavy Cross (Burns remix) [link]
So crazy about the new Gossip single that it’s on my top 10 for the second month in a row…

#06 Hercules and Love Affair – Sidetracked [link]
We only got a snippet of this long mix - but it was enough. Can’t wait for the full version.

#07 The Very Best - Warm Heart Of Africa [link]
This has already become the soundtrack to my summer…

#08 Thriftshop XL - Lilyest Hobo [link]
Brilliant. Always leaves me with a stupid smile on my face.

#09 Terry Lynn - Jamaican Girls [link]
Anyone having the guts to sample Dr Alban without being ironic deserves a place in my top 10…

#10 Copycat - Little Red Corvette [link]
Cos I couldn’t decide on any other #10 and cos the poor thing needs all the love it can get… ;)
