A Smalltown Monday Solution

If you're allergic to a) extended electro dance mashups or b) verbose intros, this might be a good time to move along. If not, bear with me while I give you the lowdown...
A lot has been said about the "Blue Monday" lyrics. The most popular interpretations revolve around either the ambivalence of continuing with the band after Ian Curtis' demise, heavy use of drugs, or the Falklands war - or even all of them, at once.
I can relate to each, but I've always considered the lyrics a bit more prosaic and down to earth, dealing with the end of an relationship. A couple have taken it as far as they could, and now they're breaking up. Possibly due to a recently discovered love affair, marking the ultimate end of the line. With this in mind, the thematic scope of this combo might even make a bit of sense...
Before us lies an intriguing eternal triangle drama, where the Blue Monday lyrics belong to the cuckolded poor fellow, and the Superbass track represents the new lover promising his mistress splendid adventures and practically anything, as long as she leaves with him. Preferably at once. Stuck in the middle is our heroine, played by Nouvelle Vague, not quite sure of what to do, and in a distress because of a somewhat challenging situation. I suppose the Bronski lyrics could be the love sick, romantic audience, urging her to take a chance with her new loverboy and "leave in the morning with everything she owns in a little black case..."
Erm...yes...well, anyway... You might have heard the tremendous new track from Superbass, "Solution". It might very well end up as the best dance track of 2008 in my book. Here it is in a brilliant Jørgensen remix accompanied by two of my all time fave electro classics "Blue Monday" by New Order and "Smalltown boy" by Bronski Beat. You'll also find snippets from Nouvelle Vague's cover of "Blue Monday" - as well as Zook's brilliant version. Hope you like it.
PS. Thanks to Nachoman for pointing me towards the Superbass track and D&K for the Blue Monday pella.

My dear Cat, I believe that, one piece after the other, you're defining a "Copycat style"... the kind of blend that makes the listener to recognize your boot after only a few second of play...
The mix between these original hits (New Order is also among my all time fav... I am just getting old...) and their own remix is a brilliant idea, that works great !
Thank you Frederic. Very kind. Cheers /Cc
