Thank you!

Thanks to all of you who have listened to, commmented and, not least, spun my entry for the Depeche Mode Remix Contest over at Beatport.

It's been a good run. Especially the first few days, when I actually had a whiff of the top 10 (#8 at best). Then things went haywire, for a number of reasons. When the contest closed I was #28 (out of 1023 entries!), which is not half-bad. But only the top 10 make it to the finals.

On the other hand, the 10 that were on top at the closing of the contest aren't necessarily the 10 ones being handed over to the band for deliberation. Let me put it this way; there's been a bit of dodgy voting going on in there. Not least the past few days. I suppose Beatport are reviewing votes at the moment - and my guess is that the top 10 will change. Rather dramatically.

Besides, another 10 tunes are choosen by the Beatport staff, so I suppose there's a tiny chance after all. I'll keep you posted.

As for the Pandagod Remix Contest, I've very litte information at the moment. I know the contest is closed - and that the band and Crunchgear are reviewing the entries this week. Hopefully, I'll know more soon.

Thanks again for your time, patience - and not least your votes! Very appreciated!

Onwards and upwards! /Cc

Copycat's Top 10 May @APC

Great month for excellent music. Here are my faves among the posted items over at AudioPorn Central. Very electro this month. Full of goodies.

1. Röyksopp ft. Robyn - The Girl and the Robot
Brilliant combo and match made in heaven.
2. Gossip - Heavy Cross
Instant classic. I [heart] Beth.
3. Dragonette - Fixin To Thrill
Aggressive electro with mean synths - cooler than ever!
4. Lily Allen - The Fear (Jells Mayhem Remix)
WOW! Why on earth aren't there MORE Jells Mayhem remixes about??!! Banging!
5. Bloc Party - Ares (Villains Remix)
Most of the Villains' remixes are dead cool. This one's no exception. Fetch!
6. World Famous Audio Hacker - Ianize EP
WFAH dropping killer beats. ANY of the three songs on the EP
7. Black Box - Ride On Time (Celebrity Murder Party Remix)
Not as brilliant as his other two revisits to the 90s, but good enough for any list. Banging!
8. FAROFF - House of Klezmer
This is what mash-ups are all about. Brilliant.
9. Lenka - Trouble is a Friend (Japanster Remix)
Lovely Lenka's second single in a killer electro take.
10.. Little Joy - Next Time Around
Hmm. Who would've thought that The Strokes' drummer Fabrizio Moretti could do something like this?! Lovely summer pop!

Full official list over HERE.

Vote for my Depeche Mode Remix @Beatportal!

I've entered Beatport's Depeche Mode Remix contest, for the band's upcoming single, "Peace".

This is the first time Depeche Mode allows official remix contests for one of their tunes. And since I've been an avid fan ever since their second single "New life", I thought I'd give it a try.

Needless to say, this contest means a lot to me and I would really appreciate if you could do me the favour of voting for my entry.

I'm doing pretty well at the moment - I'm just outside the top 10. And my track is the most commented + the third most played so far. But it's not over until June 9 - and lots of things can happen. Hopefully, I'll enter the top ten and qualify for the final examination by the band themselves.

How to vote for my remix? You simply "spin it".

1) Go to: http://www.beatportal.com/

2) If you have an account; Login.
If not click "Register". It'll only take a few seconds and you don't have to worry about spam from Beatport - they're good people.

3) Go to: http://www.beatportal.com/remix/detail/peace-a-copycat-remix/

4) Click "Spin it" on the left hand side of the player. When the player says "Unspin!", your vote is registered.

5) If you find the time, please leave a comment as well; preferably with the number you got from your spin :)

6) Cross them fingers! :D

Obviously, I'd be eternally grateful for your support and I would gladly have your baby or whatever you see fit as compensation. ;)

Thanks for your time and patience. Now, vote!

Cheers! /Cc

PS. While you're at it, why not drop by and vote for my Pandagod remix as well?

Entered a remix contest for a band called Pandagod. Please help me win it!

The track's called "This town" - and my remix is obviously "A Copycat Remix".

Listen and vote here

[The original can be found over at http://pandagod.com/]

No sign up needed, but if you do - your vote counts x1000 apparently.

Copycat remixes Depeche Mode new single "Peace"

Just a short note to tell you I've entered Beatport's Depeche Mode Remix Contest for their upcoming single "Peace".

I opted for a total reconstruction, electro house style, i
nspired by: Prydz, Rex the Dog, Jørgensen, Trentemøller, Deadmau5 and a handful of glitch…

The voting starts on May 26 - thankful for your support - but you can listen to it here & now.

Let me know what you think.

Copycat’s Top 10 April
@AudioPorn Central

#01 Manix - Feel Real Good (Celebrity Murder Party Remix) [link]
Think Deadmau5, think Swedish House Mafia. Come to think of it - don’t think at all. Shut up and dance… Outstanding
#02 Little Boots - Rich boys [link]
My fave boots are back to form and cover the brilliant “Rich Girls” by The Virgins. Nuff said.
#03 Tiga - Shoes [link]
A bit on the weird side. But cool as eff. Trademark Tiga tongue in cheek… Check out the remixes!
#04 Chris Cornell - Part of Me (Kleerup remix) [link]
Don’t really like CC. But I love Kleerup and his minimalistic Northern electro soul. This is a cool combo.
#05 Mille - Stargazers [link]
Beverly Hills 90510 meets SEGA. In France… Kinda… Top tune by top bloke Mille.
#06 Zeigeist - Bunny (White Trash Remix) [link]
Unfortunately, Sweden’s Zeigeist disbanded a little while ago. Here’s one of their best tunes in a killer remix. R.I.P.
#07 Little Boots – New In Town (The Golden Filter reMix) [link]
Two sweethearts - one love. Golden filter saves Little Boots’ first crap tune.
#08 Polly Scattergood - Please Don’t Touch [link]
Another solid Golden Filter remix. Nothing to it.
#09 ColouringIN - Intergalactic Romantic [link]
This year’s Hercules & Love Affair?
10. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero (N.A.S.A. Bloody Lobo Remix) [link]
Match made in heaven. All I can say is: yeah, yeah, yeah!!!

Full list here.
